Zach and Nancy met, worked together and got to know each other at Brook Brothers downtown Chicago. Naturally it made perfect sense to do their engagement session downtown Chicago right outside the store. We met them early Sunday morning before it got too busy downtown and started their engagement session right by the door where they first talked. The great thing about taking engagement photos at a place so special to a couple is how quickly there is an emotional connection between the couple and each other, and the camera. All we had to do was let them talk about how they met, what each place meant as we walked around, and then catch their expressions with very little formal posing. Photography downtown Chicago, or in many big cities is easy, if it’s not crowded. There are just so many great doors and walls and things to use. Throw in the fact that this whole area was so special, and you get a great set of photos every time.
After spending some time where they met, we moved down the road to the water tower, where they had their first coffee together. We then stopped at the water tower, got a fire engine pulling off from Station One and ended off right back where it all started. Every couple is unique when we photograph them. The thing that stood out to us about Nancy and Zach is how they look at each other, especially when they talked about how they met. They made our job real easy, as you can see in the photos. We are looking forward to their wedding later this year. For now here are some favorite photos from their engagement session downtown Chicago.
